KÉSZ Group is launching a contest for artists

KÉSZ Group is inviting applications from young artists for the design of a special artwork, which will be located in the inner courtyard of TILIA office building in the centre of Szeged. The aim of the initiative is to support art and enrich the urban environment with an aesthetically outstanding work of art.

TILIA office building in Szeged, between Gutenberg utca and Hajnóczy utca, is being built by reimagining and expanding the former Civil School for Girls. The harmony between the listed building and the modern architectural elements will make the inner courtyard of the office building a special meeting point for both the city residents and the office users. An outstanding work of art is planned to be displayed here by the project investor, KÉSZ Group. The sculptural work is intended to create a unique atmosphere and enhance the aesthetic value of the site, while preserving the harmony of the environment.

Art students can also apply

For decades, KÉSZ Group has been committed to supporting culture and the visual arts.In 2017, the K-ARTS Art Foundation was launched, whose mission is to promote contemporary art in Hungary, working with steel and other industrial materials. It also pays special attention to the future generation, which was an important criterion for the call for entries. In addition to artists working in the fields of fine art, applied arts, architecture, landscape architecture and design, applications from art students still in their studies are also welcome.

" TILIA office building, which will be officially completed in May 2025, will be a meeting point between historic and contemporary architecture. Through the visual arts competition, we are looking for artists whose innovative works contribute to the uniqueness of the space and enrich the architectural project with their creative solutions, with a special emphasis on our sustainability efforts. Moreover, Szeged is of particular importance for our Group, as the Szeged office has been operating in the city since 1988." - said László Németh, Director of Real Estate Development at KÉSZ Group.

By submitting an application, the applicant can not only shape the cultural future of Szeged, but the best three entries will also receive a valuable cash prize. The deadline for submitting the application is 14.02.2025.

There is also the possibility of an on-site visit, for which pre-registration is required at tilia_publicatkeszgroup.com (tilia_public[at]keszgroup[dot]com).
