Young handball talents awarded by KÉSZ Group

More talented youngsters have been added to the camp of young handball players recognised with the Good Student, Good Athlete Award. KÉSZ Group has rewarded the exemplary achievements of 12 young athletes who excel both on the school bench and in sport.

For the fifth year in a row, KÉSZ Group has been the main sponsor of the youth handball team OTP Bank-PICK Szeged. As part of this, the team rewards twice a year the most outstanding junior players of the team, 1-1 per age group, who excel both on the school bench and in sports.

In each case, the coaches' evaluation committee bases the award on academic results and performance in training, matches and other tournaments. Based on these criteria, this spring, 12 outstanding sports and student-athletes received certificates of recognition and Apple Airpods. The award ceremony took place on 22 March at the OTP Bank-PICK Szeged - Csurgói KK match at the PICK Arena, where the awards were presented by KÉSZ Group's representative, Mr. Mihály Varga presented the awards.

The value of the recognition is well shown by the fact that Benjámin Szilágyi, who won the Good Student, Good Athlete Award as a player of the junior adolescent II age group at the end of the 2018/2019 season, is now a member of the adult team, regularly playing in the Hungarian championship and Champions League.

"As one of Hungary's largest technology-driven, innovative groups of companies focused on the construction industry, KÉSZ Group considers value creation and social community building to be its core values, and therefore focuses on this in its sports support activities. It helps to identify and support young talents, and gives special support to athletes who have already proven through their careers and achievements that they are outstanding figures in Hungarian sports life, who set an example for their peers and the future generation", said Károly Benedikt, Marketing and Communications Director of KÉSZ Group.
